Understanding our fees at every stage
We believe our fees reflect the expertise, dedication, and care we bring to each client relationship, and we take pride in being upfront about them.
Unlike many in our profession – where only a small fraction openly share their fees – we believe in setting a standard of transparency. That’s why we’ve chosen to publish our fees on our website, giving you a clear understanding of what to expect before you reach out to us.

Initial meeting
What we charge: £0
Our initial meeting is held at our expense and is without obligation. It is an opportunity for us to get to know you and your situation, but also for you to get to know us and how we work.
Following this meeting, you should have everything you need to decide whether we will add sufficient value to your life and retirement plans. However, we always encourage clients to take as much time as they need to make such a decision.

Total initial fee
The total initial fee is made up of a financial planning fee and, assuming you would like us to implement our recommendations, an implementation fee.
Financial planning fee
What we charge: £2,500
For the financial planning stage, we charge a fixed fee of £2,500.
As part of this service, we will:
- Understand you, your objectives and desires for retirement
- Crunch the numbers and produce a financial forecast so you can see how your financial future might look
- Talk you through what you would like to do with the rest of your life
- Carry out an in-depth review of your existing situation and financial products
- Propose a recommended course of action for the next steps and produce your financial plan.
Implementation
What we charge: A maximum of 1% of the amount we advise on, then offset against the financial planning fee.
The total initial fee (financial planning and implementation stages) will be a minimum of £2,500 and a maximum of 1% of the amount advised on.
The fact that we offset the implementation fee against the financial planning fee is unusual, as most firms do not do this. This benefits our clients as it means you will often make significant savings in cost as a result.
Essentially, you will only pay an additional implementation fee if the cost is above the level of the financial planning fee. Additionally, if the implementation fee is above the financial planning fee, then the whole of the financial planning fee would be waived. For example, if the implementation fee was £5,000, this would be the total initial fee, and the financial planning fee would be waived entirely.
The amount we charge for our implementation fee depends on the complexity involved. For example, with straightforward cases, we may charge a lower percentage. When you meet with your financial planner at the initial meeting, they will give you a breakdown of the costs involved so you know what to expect.
As part of this service, we will:
- Ensure that your financial planning recommendations are implemented correctly and followed through to completion
- Keep you updated as to the progress of the implementation
- Provide peace of mind, knowing we’ll handle every step needed to bring your financial plan to life.
Here are two examples of our implementation fee
If you have £500,000 to invest and you have straightforward needs, such as all of the money being held currently in cash, we could charge a total initial fee of just £3,000.
If you have £750,000 to invest and you have much more complex needs, such as several existing investments and pension products, we could charge a total initial fee of £7,500.
Ongoing advice fee
What we charge: 1% of assets under management (tiered above £1 million)
The cost of this service is based on the value of your investment that we advise on and is a blended charge based on the following structure:
Assets under advice tier | Annual charge (%) |
---|---|
From £0 – £1 million | 1% |
> £1 million – £1.5 million | 0.75% |
> £1.5 million – £2 million | 0.5% |
More than £2 million | 0.25% |
As part of this service, we will:
- Provide a formal annual planning meeting. However, if something comes up or your circumstances change, we can also offer additional interim meetings
- Provide access to your adviser via a range of communication options
- Connect you with our extensive and trusted network of contacts
- Help with broader family financial issues, such as care home funding or gifting money safely
- Ensure your income is stable and secure regardless of what is happening out in the world
- Discuss your estate planning and Inheritance Tax issues with you, exploring the strategies that can or should be implemented to meet your exact requirements
- Provide smart tax planning to make your money last longer, providing you with more income
- Guide you through the pensions minefield, keeping it clear and simple at the same time.
Here are two examples of our ongoing fee
If you invest £500,000 and the agreed ongoing service fee is 1%, you will pay £5,000 per year.
If you invest £2 million and the agreed weighted ongoing service fee is 0.81%, you will pay £16,250 per year.
How do our all-in costs compare?
One of our main roles is to minimise the cost of investing for clients. Often, when clients come to us, their existing all-in costs are much higher than our all-in costs. This is because what we recommend in terms of products and investments will be much lower.
According to the Financial Adviser Business Benchmark Report, published by PIMFA, CISI and Nextwealth, all-in costs in 2023 averaged 1.75%.
Typically, our all-in costs are up to a maximum of 1.6%, making us lower than average. These costs are dependent on the investment options and platforms we choose and how much you have to invest.
